Meet Some of the Industry-Leading Speakers Who Will Be Presenting at The Conference!

  • Andrew Allan, President of Stormwater Victoria will be offering a unique insight into the many aspects of Stormwater Summit. His presentation will provide an overview of the stormwater industry within the Victorian and broader national context, the opportunities and challenges that are actively being worked through and provide a roadmap for a truly integrated Stormwater Summit paradigm.
  • Hamish Scott, Manager Capital Works & Infrastructure from Racing Victoria Limited will show you how the private sector is embracing stormwater harvesting. He will outline the harvesting initiative at Geelong Racecourse, which is going to combat severe drought conditions and allow racing activity to return to normal again. Find out what a private company’s perspective is on liaising with government and obtaining stormwater harvesting approvals.
  • Professor Ana Deletic, Director of Centre for Water Sensitive Cities from Monash University will show you how to improve waterways through better data management. By increasing the accuracy of topographical data, you can better identify the areas where further investment is required – and avoid the need to constantly re-do manual data capture. Most importantly, you can also use these systems to calculate areas of flood risk.
  • Penny Mueller from Moonee Valley City Council will showcase their award-winning Afton Street stormwater harvesting project. This project involved retrofitting stormwater quality treatment in a highly developed urban environment, and mitigating the worst effects of a conventional drainage system. You will also hear about how the council designed and implemented habitat enhancement along the Maribyrnong River, and the impact this project has had on the local community.
